President Andreas Symeou, Secretary General Geert Priem and Deputy General Secretaries Mark Moenig and Massimo Denarier travelled to Tirana to support our colleagues from SPP SH to make an attempt to end their problems with their Director of Police and the Ministry. A meeting was held between representatives of the Director of Police, the Finance department of the police, the representative of the Ombudsman and the lawyer of SPP SH. After a heated discussion, it was more or less clear, that the Director of Police does not want to support unionism and is not willing to help SPP SH collect the membership fee from their members. Even though they know, that CESP is ready to make a collective complaint at the European Court in Strasbourg, the President and the General Secretary appealed to the representatives of the Director of Police to pass on a message of wishing to start a constructive social dialogue between the union and the government.

On March 4, CESP together with SPP SH held a press conference with various Albanian TV Channels and informed them about the situation in the country. The video of the Press Conference is available on the CESP Facebook page.
